There are two main ways brain injury can occur, from a dangerous (tumors, neurological diseases, and substance abuse and alcohol) or start on the outside (infection, lack of oxygen, trauma and stroke). Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) is brain damage after birth.
The main cause of ABI include disease (AIDS, Alzheimer’s, cancer, Parkinson’s or MS), alcohol or drugs, prolonged lack of oxygen, physical trauma (like a car accident or suffered in combat sports ) and stroke (rupture of blood vessels causing damage to brain tissue).

Many patients experience mental and physical fatigue, visual impairment and slowing of mental processes such as problem solving and planning. Personality and behavior modification may also occur with some people even become a threat to society.
